What am I grateful for from yesterday?

Oddly, I'm grateful for happy wait staff and good service at the Applebee's on US1 in Saugus. After a very sad attempt to have a happy birthday dinner for Kiddo at Hilltop on Monday, we decided to try again.

This time they all came over and sang their birthday song. F loved it. He got a huge grin. He was also so cute, making sure to always address our server by name. It was a little thing, but it made his night.

Yep, grateful for cheesy cheerfulness.

Excuse me. I have something in my eye. Yeah, that's it. Something in my eye. :-)

I totally love that he hears us talking about how we used to work in restaurants, and that people who work in retail and food service deserve respect - and that he DOES it.

He has been witness to someone treating folks in retail very poorly, and I when he started yelling (thinking he was helping this person), I took him to another part of the store and explained that we don't do that to other people, because it probably made the store employee feel really bad. He agreed that it wouldn't be nice to be treated that way, and seems to have really internalized that experience.

Anyway, can you tell how much I adore this kid?
