Well, I did it. I went to Staples over lunch and *gasp*

A handheld recorder...with a tape and everything. Specifically, the only one that takes full size tapes.
I know, magnetic media is a bit gauche in this digital time. Alas, it is a grand and useful thing, as far as I am concerned.
