What a weekend! What a week!
What a birthday!

Ok, ok, here it is, the weekend update (sounds like something off SNL, doesn’t it?)
Anyway…

This weekend involved helping a friend in crisis, and going to a Japanese steakhouse. That, of course, was after we went to Salem to walk around a bit. Surprisingly, we bought very little. Ok, I bought NOTHING. Can that be???

It involved celebrating my birthday, and talking to many many people. Every time the phone rang on Sunday, it was probably for me. I talked to my folks, and my sister (ever so briefly, since she was chasing two little ones), my mom (always a good chat, if long), and my nephew (“Happy Birfday, Aunt Joan!”) and my younger neice (“Happy Boofday, Aunt Joan. Followed by lots of head shaking and… “I love talking to Aunt Joan”). I had a chat with my brother, too. Today is his birthday, but, by now, he’s out on the open water. *sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] meadmaker and I went for a drive up to Gloucester (we went to the Rocky Point artists’ colony), and tried to get to Rockport, but were foiled by the parade. We DID, however, manage some yummy soft-serve ice cream, though. I got caramel soft serve dipped in chocolate. Mmmmmm.

Yesterday then involved starting to ease back into the world. Only a little bit, though. We already have a household Costco membership (way cool!). Yesterday, after going to the Museum of Science, I brought up the subject of a membership there. Hey, it also works for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago – and I LOVE that place. Anyway, I had never been there before, and it was FUN!!!! I want to go back! And, if we apply our tickets from yesterday, it’s only another $37 for a dual membership.

Empty moments were filled with cuddling and B5.
Yeah. Good weekend.
Now, tonight, I have to do laundry.
