Nothing really to post.
But I have a new default picture.
Ok, it's another tiger, but, you know, I gotta love it.

You know, I was just thinking of some of the movies that make me smile. I know, frivolous, but there are some that just always hit me just right. I can be in the worst mood, and they'll help me feel better. Or make me laugh just right. Or remind me that I'm not hopeless... And some are just sweet.

So:

Hudson Hawk ("Would you like to swing on a star...")
Undercover Blues
Mulan ("Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me....)
and...
Neptune's Daughter ("Baby, it's cold outside...)

Actually, in Neptune's Daughter, the song "Baby, It's Cold Outside" is sung in the summer, when the weather is beautiful. So perhaps it's fitting on this lovely Boston summer day.I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
well Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour

The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside

C'mon baby

I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so delicious
My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look delicious
Well maybe just a half a drink more - Never such a blizzard before

I've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your comb - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now
But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that old out
Ahh, but it's cold outside

Baby it's cold outside

*content sigh* Wow, even just thinking of these makes just a little more, well, content.

WATER OF WATER. Pretty lady! Fair and gentle, your empathy attracts others to you. Possibly psychic, you are pure emotion and are more likely to act on feeling rather than practical thought or logic. You think that's just fine because imagination is important. You are the Whore of Babylon with her cup of abominable things, the Medium of Endor and in the mundane world you usually make a good wife and mother. You shine when you are able to give emotional support to others.

WOW! I just had a brief chat with someone I've known for years. Actually, she's going into her sophomore year in high school, and I've known her since 1997...so I've known her since she was 10!

Anyway, we used to study at the same dojo. Sure, she was in the kids classes and I was in the adult...but we did do weapons together. And since she usually needed a ride to tournaments, I was often her de-facto "Mom."

Little did I realize that on those car rides, and with those chats, that she'd turn out to be so much like me...

Ok, besides the emotional bit. That goes with being a Cancer - which we both are.

But upon starting high school, she decided that she wanted to do color guard (which I had started to do when I was 11 - so she had heard a lot of guard stories). At the time, I was coaching the guard at their "sister school" (they shared auxiliary music and art teachers). But she only did flags - since first years could only do flags... no sabers, and certainly no rifles.

But rifles are more fun than any of the other apparatus!

SO, she tried out for rifles this year AND MADE IT! It's going to be tough - but this girl is a few months away from her second degree black belt in tae kwon do, and has been doing guard for a year, and has won tournament all over the state of Wisconsin - I know she can handle it.

*wiping a tear* I'm so proud!!!!!!!!
