Mmmm - Lazy Sundays. How I miss them.
That's what yesterday was, by the way. A lazy Sunday. I didn't feel like doing much of anything. So I didn't - outside of required laundry and an email that needed to be sent.

Most of the day consisted of sitting on the couch watching movies. A Chorus Line was fun - although, I really liked the way my sister played Bebe Benson. I guess I'm just prejudiced there. The Jinn and I watched Annie. Then there was some internet and nap time in there.

We finished watching the Japanese slasher flick that we started over a week ago. Versus. Interesting. That's all I'll say. I think the Jinn and I will look at Ringu for our next venture into the Japanese horror genre.

Today, after struggling to get out of bed, all I could do was drive to work. So, here I am. I'm half expecting shit for being "too cute" with [livejournal.com profile] meadmaker at the company party on Friday night. But, so far, all I've received are compliments for him from my boss and my immediate coworkers. The clincher will be our AVP's response at lunch today. Although, he seemed amused when we left the party.

Anyway, so, here I am at work with a lot of work on my desk.
I guess I should get to it.
I'd rather be sleeping.

1. Waking up when the alarm went off, to find that the Jinn had already fed the cat.

2. New front tires when it's snowing.

Well, after a meeting with one of my many bosses, another one asked me if I wanted his job, since I seemed to be able to explain what we needed better than he did. I told him that I was flattered, but I'd rather work my way to VP more slowly...and that I figured I'd have more credibility that way.

He laughed at that. And then made comments about "line of succession."

Hmmm.

Follow that with a new loss - water damage. Go figure. Everyone in the northeast either has a burst pipe or knows someone with a burst pipe. I know several. But, then, I'm an adjuster - so it's my job.

This client actually asked me if I have a camera, though. Like I'd be worth my weight in ANYTHING as a property adjuster if I didn't. Ah, well.

There was a bit of ribbing from the higher ups about [livejournal.com profile] meadmaker's presence at the company party. Not that I was surprised. But most folks agreed that he's a "nice guy." And the one who knows my dad was most flattering of him. This is a good thing. Of course, they all think that I just started dating him. Only our secretary seems to be able to put it together that we've been together nearly 7 months now.

Wow.

7 months.

I'm glad we won't be making any real major and irreversible decisions for at least another two months. I don't think I've ever had a relationship last longer than 9 months (continuously).

Earth
Your element is Earth. I hate to say it but you are
down to earth. Stubborn and loyal. You tend to
want to nurture others and you are the one
person friends always come to for awnsers.
Without people like you others would be flying
over the edge because, whether you know it or
not you keep a steady beat to your life and
will end up where you want to in the end. There
is a sureness about you that is hard to match
that draws people to you. No matter what
happens the Earth keeps turning.
