Well, my folks just left a bit ago to drive back to Wausau, WI.
I never thought I would miss that place, but sometimes I really do.

Anyway, they got here at 7:30 PM on Monday, and it's been a full week. I'm so glad I took the time off from work to spend with them.

On Tuesday, I showed my folks my new office, and we had lunch with one of my managers that is an old friend of my dad's... Tuesday night was Mom and Dad's night out (on me), so [livejournal.com profile] meadmaker and I found a cute place on Brattle called Casablanca. Swanky and neat - and the work well with food sensitivities and allergies.

Then, on Wednesday, was the Duck Tour! Fun! (a lot of fun, Dad heckled the driver, and she played it up.)
Wednesday night we went to dinner at the Wayside Inn, out in Sudbury. Very nice.

Yesterday was a less busy day, in a way. During the day, we went out to Bolton Orchards to get my mother's elderberry jelly and have lunch in time to have a bit of wine-tasting at Nashoba Valley Orchards and Winery. Mom picked up a few things (I did not, since we have an overabundance of wine for the time being).

Then, last night, while I was at Open Air Circus, mom and [livejournal.com profile] meadmaker made a dinner of stroganoff and artichokes. Topped that off with apple crisp, and it was a delightful meal.

This morning, [livejournal.com profile] meadmaker went to Krispy Kreme for breakfast, and brought it back for all of us. After he left for work, we headed to see the USS Constitution and the USS Cassin Young. My dad loved it. I think this morning really made the trip for him. He's an old maritime guy, anyway. Add to that the fact that his dad's friends (while my dad was growing up) were from the docks in Brooklyn, and my brother just went on his blue-water duty in the Pacific. It was a good morning.

Now they have gone to drive back to Wisconsin.
And I have a weekend ahead of me. Towels and sheets are in the washer. Dishes are nearly done. Can I relax now?
