The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft has been flying around the planet Saturn recently. Reporting on its explorations, a story in USA Today had the headline, "Saturn Offers More Mystery, Less Certainty." I photocopied it and sent it to my astrological colleagues, many of whom suffer from a misguided certainty about Saturn's meaning. They dogmatically insist it's a harbinger of contraction and limitation--an oppressive tyrant sucking the fun out of life. But my research suggests the real story is more complex. Saturn can actually be a benevolent guide that pushes you to be more true to yourself. It helps you shed mediocre pleasures and trivial goals that distract you from your high-priority dreams. It forces you to be ruthlessly honest about what's most important to you. I wanted you to know these fun facts, Cancerian, since the ringed planet is in your sign, and will remain there, nudging you to develop the discipline that leads to more freedom, until July, 2005.
I guess that means now really is the time to buckle down. Study more aggessively. Focus on Craft and Career. Focus focus focus. And BALANCE. So, if I tell anyone that "I'm busy studying," please understand that it's nothing against you. I will be making time for friends as well as my other goals. I just need to make time for it all. Hmm. Hurricane Frances is already a category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 140 mph. She can easily strengthen, given the barometric pressure at the eye and the warm seas right now.
Landfall can be anywhere from Palm Beach County, FL through the Carolinas. There are watches all the way up to Cape Hatteras.
We discuss what kind of property will be involved with the possible landfall areas, and what kind of inland involvement there will be. So how many people on this CAT team? Who goes when?
The truly scary part is that she is not moving quickly. She is taking her time. The gulf stream, then, can possibly save Florida from another bad hit. However, where she hits land, she will sit for a while before moving on. At least, for those on the ground, that's how it will seem. See, Tropical Storm conditions will begin about 185 miles out from the eye. The eye is 26 miles across. So when you hit the eye, there will be about two hours of down time. That's how slow she's moving. Hurricane conditions are felt approximately 85 miles out from the eye. This will leave a wide swath of involvement.
People in low-lying areas are instructed to board up and move out in the next couple of days. If Frances hits Florida, it will be Saturday/Sunday. More likely Saturday.
