I'm tired. Sleepy. Drowsing at my desk.
I didn't eat a good lunch. Now I'm paying for it.
But...
I got my new coffee maker!!!! Yippee! The Krups Caffe il Bistro with all the neato attachments and features.
Espresso anyone? ;)
Of course, this also means...
I have more boxes! Just what I, um needed?

Date: 2004-08-05 12:17 pm (UTC)Lo and behold (again, to my chagrin) expresso IS a valid variant, indeed is the older and truer version of the word. In retrospect I should have seen this all along given the benefit of even my rudimentary recollection of high school Latin, but alas, I did not.
No I am left with an ear that still hears the "x version” as it would the screech of fingernails on a chalkboard, but a tongue that can't rightfully comment anymore.
*sigh*
I'll have to redouble my pedantic efforts on the proper pronunciation of "forte".

No X in the word, so I don't pronounce one. Some things, though, are regional variations, so I don't jump on them. I did not know about this one until now.
Thank you for educating me.
Now not only will we ask for apres din-din cafe....

Don't leave the house without it.
