Ok - that's a quote from the "Spelling Bee" Wausau Insurance commercial from the years when Wausau Insurance Company (aka Employers Insurance of Wausau) sponsored 60 minutes.
But, anyway....Yippee!!!!!
I'm going to have a short trip to Wausau! Yay! No, really, I'm excited about it.
I KNOW it's in the middle of nowhere compared to Boston.
I KNOW that it's cold.
But my parents are there, my sister is there, and her kids are there. I miss them. Especially the kids, who I can't really interact with on the phone.
So, I have to go teach folks there to use a system that I've been testing for almost a year.
I fly in one day (it really does take that much time), spend a day teaching, a day with family, then a day to fly home. (Wow, now I'm referring to the Boston area as my home. Amazing.)
But I'll stay at my folks' house. So I'll see them all. And just think of the money it will save my employer. Of course, that's only because it allows me to spend more time with them. hehe.
Oh, and next time you throw something away in those outside bins at McDonalds or Taco Bell, think of Wausau - they're all manufactured by Wausau Tile.
Whitewater kayak racing? Yeah, one of the final competitions in the Olympic run is in Wausau down the Wisconsin River.
It's also home of Kolbe & Kolbe Windows (lovely windows that are all wood - people that restore historical buildings love these folks), and the gateway to the Northwoods.
Most of all - it's home to some of my family. So I'm happy to go there.
