It worked! It worked! Yippee!

Well, I ran home from work, picked up the cake, got the plates and cutting and eating implements, dropped them off at the theater, and still made it on time to dinner.

[livejournal.com profile] tafkar looked fabulous. And radiant. And all excited that there were these surprises on her birthday. heeeee!

I'll let her tell the details, though.

I must say, I am glad to have finally met [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha face to face and get a chance to talk to her.

Quirk!

Cancer Horoscope for week of February 19, 2004

According to my analysis of the astrological omens, it's time for you to make two corrections. First, you are suffering from an exaggerated sense of what's possible to accomplish in the short term. I urge you to deflate your grandiosity a bit. Second, your expectations of what you can pull off in the long run are way too small. I authorize you to pump them up.

Kind of like last week - I need to actually put voice to my wants...
Hmmm.
I'm sensing a pattern.

Do I sell myself short? Probably.
Do I still expect too much of myself? I'm nearly certain of that, too.

I'm working on it. I really am. At least now I recognize that I do it. Geez.

teeheeeee!

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies:

1. Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. Africans drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Americans.

CONCLUSION:

Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

I need to lose weight.
No, not because of the "social norms" or anything like that.
Not because I want to look like someone else.

I'm just not as comfortable in my skin.
And it makes morris dancing more difficult.

So, here goes.

Bleh.

Perhaps in conjunction with eating out less often, this will also improve the budget.

Yeah.

Ok, that's three people I've tried to call this afternoon who are not in. Apparently, there are people in this world who make mega-moolah while only working 8am to noon on the days when they feel like it.

What did I do wrong?
